What is Forever Parents?
Forever Parents is a program for parents that helps them
understand their children's experiences of separation and divorce (based
in part on curriculum developed by Parents Apart ®, University of
Massachusetts, Department of Psychiatry and the PEACE Project at Hofstra
University). In
divorce, the family does not dissolve, but reorganizes.
Consequently, the children's needs change, and these needs must be met
by you, their parents.
Divorce and separation have a profound impact on
children, and the way you handle conflict during the divorce process
will significantly affect your child. As parents, you have a
responsibility to help your children cope.
Although you and your former partner may be separated,
you are still parents.
